Volunteers Need

Stop by the Fire House any Tuesday evening to inquire.

Welcome to the website for the Norwood Fire Department. We service Norwood, NJ which is located in Bergen County.

The Norwood Fire Company is an integral part of the community and has been proudly serving Norwood for 107 years. The Company is a 100% volunteer organization whose primary mission is to protect the lives and property of the residents of Norwood and to assist the surrounding communities in times of emergency. The Norwood Fire Company is here to make certain our small community is as safe as possible.

The Norwood Fire Company responds to any and all emergency calls; including but not limited to, structure fires, fire alarm activations, gas leaks, auto accidents, medical assistance responses, and weather-related emergencies.

In addition to responding to fire and rescue calls. The Norwood Fire Company also organizes and conducts additional classes and demonstrations, which are designed to promote fire safety and make the topic understandable and fun for children. There are several holiday programs, which have become traditions in Norwood. December is filled with activities including our tree lighting ceremony and Santa dispensing treats and holiday cheer while riding on a fire truck. There is the ever-popular Easter Egg Hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny and friends, and the Halloween Parade. These programs are held to develop a stronger feeling of community and to enjoy special times with our neighbors.

The significance of being a firefighter today is unparalleled. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter visit the firehouse any Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm.
